Thai, English, and Mandarin, from one catalog

One model, one key, one rate, and a voice id that names the language. This page is the map: what each language covers, which voices read it, and where its own page is.

The box takes up to 50 characters and speaks in 8 voices across the three languages. Type Thai, English, or Mandarin.

Three languages, one request#

Each row is one language: how many voices read it, what it covers, and the pages that go deeper.

Thai24voices

Central Thai across every register, three regional accents (Isan, Northern, Southern), English words inside a Thai sentence, and Pali and Sanskrit as a chanting book prints them.

English6voices

Whole sentences in English, for Thai companies whose customers are not Thai, and for classrooms building listening practice.

Mandarin Chinese2voices

Simplified script, for Thai businesses serving Chinese-speaking customers and for Thai learners of Mandarin.

Choosing the voice#

The voice id decides the language. Three rules cover every request.

Pick the voice by the language of the sentence, and a mixed sentence by the language that carries it.

A voice reads the other languages with a foreign accent, which is why every picker on this site groups voices by language.

  1. 01

    A sentence in one language

Use a voice from that language's group. Any of them, on any account, at the same rate.

  2. 02

A Thai sentence with English inside

Use a Thai voice. It reads the Latin-script words as English and the Thai-spelled ones as Thai.

  3. 03

    A chant or a mantra

Use a Thai voice and send the line as the book prints it. The marks do the rest.

Questions#

Are these three separate models?
No. One model serves the whole catalog, and a voice is an id you send with the request. The language is a property of the voice.
Does a language cost more?
No. Speech bills per character at one rate for every voice and language.
Can I send a language you do not list?
The catalog reads Thai, English, and Mandarin, and Pali and Sanskrit in Thai script. A line in another language is read by whichever voice you choose, with that voice's accent, and this page makes no claim for it.
Which voice for a bilingual announcement?
One voice per language, and the two cast to sit together. The Thai and Mandarin announcements page shows three pairs.
Where is the full roster?
The voices page lists all 32 with a sample each, grouped the same way as this map.
