Three languages, one request#
Every one of the 50 voices reads all three. Each row is what a language covers and the pages that go deeper.
English
Whole sentences in English, for any product or service whose customers listen in English, and for classrooms building listening practice.
Thai
Central Thai across every register, English words inside a Thai sentence, and Pali and Sanskrit as a chanting book prints them. The three regional accents (Isan, Northern, Southern) are Paxa TTS Flash voices.
Mandarin Chinese
Simplified script, for any business serving Chinese-speaking customers and for learners of Mandarin.
Choosing the voice#
The voice is a choice of character, and the words decide the language. Three rules cover every request.
Choose the voice for its character, and send each sentence as it is written.
Words keep the language of their script, whichever voice reads them. On Paxa TTS Flash, a voice speaks one language and reads the other two with a foreign accent.
A sentence in one language
Any voice reads it, on any account, at the same rate.
A Thai sentence with English inside
Send it as written. Latin-script words read as English and Thai-spelled ones as Thai.
A chant or a mantra
Send the line as the book prints it. The marks do the rest.
Questions#
Are these three separate models?
No. One model reads all three: every Paxa TTS Flash v2 voice speaks Thai, English, and Mandarin, and one request can mix them.
Does a language cost more?
No. Speech bills per character at one rate for every voice and language.
Can I send a language you do not list?
The voices read English, Thai, and Mandarin, and Pali and Sanskrit in Thai script. A line in another language is read with the chosen voice's accent, and this page makes no claim for it.
Which voice for a bilingual announcement?
One voice reads both languages, or two voices cast to sit together read one each. The Thai and Mandarin announcements page shows three pairs.
