One announcement, in Thai and Mandarin
A hotel, a mall, or an arrivals hall says the same thing twice, once in each language. Two voices from one catalog read the pair, and a changed line is two requests.
Bilingual audio in Thailand is usually two recordings from two people, made at two different times. The Thai line is updated when the schedule changes and the Mandarin line is left as it was, because the second speaker is harder to book.
From text, the pair moves together. The script holds both lines side by side, and each goes to the voice cast for it. Below are three announcements as a front desk, a floor, and a closing bell would say them.
Three announcements, two languages#
Each pair is one meaning in two scripts. Two female voices, cast to sit together, read the Thai line and the Mandarin line, and the pair sounds like one announcer.

How a pair is produced#
Three steps, and the second is the only one a person does.
Write the Thai line
The announcement as the Thai staff would say it, particles included. The voice is female, and the line is written for a female speaker.
Have the Mandarin line written
By your translator or your Chinese-speaking staff. The translation API on this site translates into Thai, which serves a message that starts on the Chinese side. The Mandarin line itself is written by a person.
Send two requests
Each line goes to its voice id, and each comes back as one file. Play them in sequence, and a changed line is one request again.
Where the pair plays#
Four places that already announce in two languages, from a script somebody has to keep current.
Hotel front desk and lifts
Check-in, breakfast hours, the pool closing. The lines change with the season, and both languages should change on the same day.
Malls and department stores
Opening, closing, a promotion on the third floor, a lost child. A floor announcement is written in the morning and played by noon.
Hospitals and clinics
Queue calls and department directions for international patients. The Mandarin line follows the Thai one, from the same queue system.
Airports, stations, and attractions
Gate changes, platform changes, and last entry. The text is already bilingual on the screen, and the audio can be the same text.
Questions#
Can one voice read both languages?
