The registration authority prescribes this layout and every book carries it. Which fields are filled varies by vehicle class, and a motorcycle book prints fewer engineering figures than a car.

Why this one is hard to read#

Two blocks, one shape

Owner and possessor carry the same three labels in the same order. Position in the page is the only thing separating them, and position is what a line-by-line reader gives up first.

Chassis and engine numbers have no checksum

Both are alphanumeric strings mixing letters and digits with nothing to validate against. A misread character is invisible until a transfer is rejected at the counter.

Engineering figures print in Thai numerals

Cylinder count, displacement, horsepower, and kerb weight come in Thai digits while the chassis and engine strings stay Latin. One page, two systems, adjacent rows.

From blocks to fields#

Each ownership block comes back as its own run of blocks with its heading attached. Splitting on those headings gives you owner and possessor separately, which is the distinction the whole document exists to record and the one a fused reading destroys.

Questions#

What is the difference between ผู้ถือกรรมสิทธิ์ and ผู้ครอบครอง?

The first is the legal owner, which is frequently a finance company while a loan is outstanding. The second is whoever holds and uses the vehicle. Many books name two different parties.

Can it read a photograph of the book?

PNG, JPEG and WebP are read as one page each, alongside PDF, up to 50 pages a request. Registration books reach systems as phone photographs more often than as scans.

Do you validate the chassis number?

No. It comes back as the characters printed on the page. There is no checksum in the string for anyone to validate against, which is why a second reading or a human check is worth the minute it costs.
